Today a lot of people have 3D printer in their home, but most 3D printers come with the standard brass nozzle for printing, is it better to switch to a stainless one, or keep the standard brass nozzle?
Most 3D printer uses a brass nozzle because it’s easier to print and has a better heat transfer between the hotend and the brass, so you will get a more accurate temperature. On the other end, brass nozzle tends to wear down much faster than a stainless model, so you will have to replace them more often.
Yes and no. It depends on what you intend to use it for.
If you’re using printing PLA, ABS, and PETG then it’s better to stick with a brass nozzle.
If you’re printing more corrosive filaments such as: Carbon Fiber, Wood and Metal then a stainless nozzle will last you longer.
The bad part of a stainless nozzle is that the nozzle temperature tends to be less accurate, so you will have to play with the nozzle temperature for a while.
Example: The hotend temperature is 220c but the stainless nozzle is still at around 199c-200c, so pay attention to that part.
