Once you build your very own DTG you gotta measure it all by your self and calibrate everything, if you have printed your first design but it came out blurry then it means the distance between print head to t-shirt is probably incorrect.
How to Calibrate distance between print head to t-shirt
This can be a difficult task to perform since all sides of t-shirt plate must be at the same height and failure to do so will result in blurry prints or low quality prints.
The correct distance is about 2 mm from t-shirt to the garment but it doesn’t stop there, depending on the t-shirt you’re printing it could still result in blurry image since some t-shirt material is thick and some thin so the best way is to build an automatic height adjustable platform, or build your own height measure. Some people go for the cheap way using 2 business card the plastic ones, you must do this to all 4 sides of the platform.
Another thing you should consider is the t-shirt fibers, it’s always best to heat press t-shirt for a few seconds before printing so the fibers will go down and not affect the print quality.
